The "Expert Consultation - SDG Blueprint for Sustainable Agriculture" at the India Habitat Center was a pivotal event that shed light on the complex interplay between sustainable agriculture and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. It provided a platform for experts from various fields to share their insights and experiences, ultimately working towards a more sustainable and prosperous future for India's agriculture sector. As we progress toward achieving the 2030 Agenda, the insights from this consultation will serve as a valuable guide, helping to shape policy recommendations and strategies for a better, more sustainable world.

Development Alternatives presented their work in the area of Inclusive Entrepreneurship at the Work4Progress (W4P) Annual Conference in Barcelona, Spain. The Conference was held from 9th to 11th October and brought together more than 15 organisations who are a part of W4P Global Network and other initiatives supported by "la Caixa" Foundation.

Development Alternatives advocates for empowering local communities and incorporating traditional knowledge into adaptation efforts in a side event at the Adaptation Futures 2023, on October 06 in Montreal, Canada. This side event was supported by the Adaptation Fund and witnessed Zeenat Niazi sharing insights from an evaluation of the AF-funded projects in India, co-led by the Climate Action Network South Asia (CANSA) between 2019 and 2021.

Equality4Progress, a joint effort by Development Alternatives (DA) and the Bank of America, focuses on empowering women in rural India, specifically in the Bundelkhand region of Uttar Pradesh. It aims to create 10 'emPowered platforms,' establish 2,000 women-run enterprises, and generate 5,000 job opportunities.

As part of the project “SDGs Business Model Verification Survey with the Private Sector for Training of Casting Engineers in India” being jointly implemented by Kimura Foundry and E-Square Inc in association with TARA as the local partner in India, Kimura in collaboration with Karnataka German Technical Training Institute, inaugurated Kimura Casting Training Course at KGTTI, Bengaluru.

DA Hosted a one day workshop at TARAgram Orchha on Water resilience in Bundelkhand Region. An MoU was signed with Bundelkhand University.

Zeenat Niazi, Vice President of Development Alternatives Group, participated in a seminar where her research was featured as ‘a significant stride towards resilient, adaptive, and community-centric resource management, underscoring a commitment to enhancing rural well-being through sustainable practices and local partnerships’.

A ‘Training of Trainers’ (ToT) session was held in DAHQ to empower our team members of Maersk ‘Suhana Safar’ programme with the knowledge and skills needed to effectively implement our programme’s objectives.

On September 15, 2023, we convened a Certification Ceremony at our Prabhat Livelihood Center in Bahalgarh, Sonipat, Haryana, as part of our Skills to Livelihood program. The primary objective of this event was to impart certificates upon our dedicated students who had successfully completed their training courses, thereby acknowledging, and celebrating their remarkable achievements.

In the two-day developmental evaluation exercise in Mirzapur, the DA team engaged with Work4Progress entrepreneurs, local communities, and field teams to assess entrepreneurial ecosystem needs, opportunities, barriers and enablers.
