Development Alternatives joined fellow network members of Vikalp Sangam to discuss alternatives for development in the 2023 General Assembly Meet from November 03-06 at Farmer’s Share in Shoranur, Kerala. The meeting concluded with a field visit and interaction with the tribal community in the Vazhachal forest division in the Thrissur district. The community was the first in the state to receive Community Forest Resource (CFR) rights.

Development Alternatives advocates for empowering local communities and incorporating traditional knowledge into adaptation efforts in a side event at the Adaptation Futures 2023, on October 06 in Montreal, Canada. This side event was supported by the Adaptation Fund and witnessed Zeenat Niazi sharing insights from an evaluation of the AF-funded projects in India, co-led by the Climate Action Network South Asia (CANSA) between 2019 and 2021.
