Inauguration of 10-TPD Rotary calciner

A new milestone has been achieved in the development of low-carbon cement technologies. In collaboration with Technology and Action for Rural Advancement (TARA) and Promac Engineering Industries Limited has developed and commissioned a 10 TPD pilot-scale rotary calciner designed to support research and industrial trials for clay calcination.

The system provides an opportunity to work with different clay resources and study their behaviour under controlled thermal conditions. This will help in understanding the key process parameters required for effective clay activation and the development of LC3 (Limestone Calcined Clay Cement).

What makes this development particularly significant is the transition of a laboratory-level concept towards a practical, engineered pilot platform capable of generating real operating data and supporting future scale-up. It is another example of how engineering, technology, research and indigenous manufacturing capabilities can come together to address one of the major challenges facing the cement sector reducing carbon emissions while maintaining performance and scalability. The journey ahead is about testing, learning, optimising and demonstrating the technology at progressively larger scales.

A promising step forward for LC3 and the transition towards a more sustainable Cement Industry.
