Awareness activities under the Natural Ecosystem Restoration programme were carried out across multiple villages and schools throughout April, bringing together community members, Talab Samitis, and students through a mix of dialogue and participatory learning.

The engagement began with a Jal Chaupal in Luharli, followed by a series of Paani ki Paathshala sessions and community dialogues across Sidipur and Mahavad. These interactions brought together over 100 participants, including students, community members, and Talab Samiti representatives, creating spaces for open conversations around water conservation and local water systems. Parallel sessions in schools ensured that younger audiences were equally engaged, making the learning both inclusive and intergenerational.

Building on this momentum, a Participatory Rural Appraisal exercise in Luharli enabled students to map local resources and understand their immediate water landscape. This shift from listening to doing played a critical role in deepening their understanding of water systems and their relevance in everyday life.

The series concluded with continued school-level engagement, reinforcing key messages around conservation and responsible water use. What emerges from this sustained effort is a gradual shift from awareness to ownership. As conversations move across villages and classrooms, communities begin to not only understand water systems but also see themselves as active custodians of these shared resources.
