As part of its Capacity Building for Multiplication initiative, the Indian Micro Enterprises Development Foundation (IMEDF), a Section 8 company of the Development Alternatives Group, organised a three-hour online webinar titled "Building Brands that Sell – Packaging, Positioning & Market Access" on 3 July 2026. The session was designed to strengthen the branding and market-readiness of micro and rural enterprises by equipping participants with practical strategies to improve product positioning and enhance market competitiveness.

“Detailed and relevant example-based insights provided with depth, and sessions were interactive in nature.”- Melody Zote

The webinar featured Ms Shyama Jha, Founder of SJAR Consulting Pvt. Ltd., as the lead faculty, while Srishti Bhattacharya, Deputy Manager (Cluster Initiatives) moderated the session. The programme covered key aspects of creating economic prosperity through branding, developing effective packaging strategies, strengthening market linkages, and building sustainable value chains. Interactive discussions and question-and-answer sessions enabled participants to contextualise these concepts within their own enterprises and development initiatives.

“Sessions were quite engaging and delivered with applicable field-based examples, which were insightful.” - K Rathna

The webinar brought together 17 participants from 12 organisations, representing development practitioners, producer companies, social enterprises, cluster development professionals, and marketing experts. The diversity of participants fostered rich peer learning and practical exchanges on branding challenges and opportunities in rural enterprise ecosystems.

Participants appreciated the engaging format and field-based examples shared during the sessions, highlighting the relevance of the discussions for strengthening enterprise competitiveness and improving market access for grassroots producers.
