Role Purpose

The Senior Manager – Networking and Partnerships will lead strategic partnerships, donor engagement, business development and coordination for the Resources Sustainability Group of Development Alternatives.

The role will focus on creating opportunities for resource mobilization and strategic partnerships, developing and pursuing a prioritized donor pipeline, supporting proposal and concept note development, and strengthening coordination across internal teams and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Business Development and Partnership Development

• Create opportunities and aim to raise INR 2.5 Cr. to support and strengthen the Resources Sustainability Group through resource mobilization and strategic partnerships.
• Undertake research, outreach, meetings, proposal development, budgeting, negotiations and closure, with clear annual and multi-year targets.
• Develop and pursue a prioritized donor pipeline.
• Facilitate concept note development, technical inputs, budgeting discussions, and approval processes.
• Promote and market concept notes and strategic initiatives to prospective donors and partners.
• Build and maintain collaborative relationships with potential partners and manage the grants.
• Support cross-program collaboration within DA.

Communication and Coordination

• Coordinate with Corporate Communications (Corp Comms/KMU) for strategic messaging, visibility, and outreach activities.
• Ensure alignment and timely communication with other teams on proposals, partnerships, and project updates.
• Facilitate cross-functional coordination among program, finance, communication, and implementation teams.
• Support development of visibility materials, donor communication content, reports, and impact narratives.

Internal Management and Monitoring

• Maintain and regularly update the BD tracking sheet and partnership pipeline database.
• Monitor timelines, deliverables, and reporting schedules across projects and donor commitments.

Project Management

• Provide coordination support for implementing the strategic media plan for the financial year.
• Ensure alignment of project implementation with decarbonisation and sustainability objectives.

Organizational and Strategic Support

• Contribute to institutional positioning, donor engagement strategy, and partnership expansion.
• Support internal coordination meetings and organizational review processes.

Key Deliverables

• Business development, proposals and funding mapping for the INR 3 Cr. target.
• Maintenance of Business Development Portals.
• Development of collaterals and Social Media Plan.
• Strengthened institutional visibility and strategic positioning.
• Improved coordination, communication, and project monitoring systems.

Qualification, Skills and Mindset

• Postgraduate degree in Development Studies, Social Sciences, Management, Business Administration, Communications, Public Policy, or a related discipline
• Strong relationship-building skills and comfort engaging with senior leaders in companies.
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English; working proficiency in Hindi.
• Strong proposal writing and storytelling abilities – able to move between a detailed log frame and a simple one-page pitch.
• Comfort working with numbers: budgets, multi-year projections, basic unit economics, and fundraising dashboards.
• Self-driven, organised, able to manage multiple relationships and deadlines without losing warmth or integrity.
