Context and Role

We are in search of a dynamic and hands-on professional to fill the role of Manager – Digital Platforms & Community Capacity Building. This position will lead the development and on-ground implementation of the organisation's digital enterprise support platform, while anchoring the financial and digital capability-building agenda for nano and micro entrepreneurs. The role requires a blend of product thinking, program design, stakeholder engagement, and strong field execution, with a focus on driving adoption of platform-based services and delivering measurable improvements in enterprise outcomes. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, enabling the cultivation and maintenance of relationships with diverse stakeholders.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Platform Development & User-Centric Design

• Lead the conceptualization, iterative development, and rollout of the organisation's digital platform for enterprise support services, aligned with the needs of nano and micro entrepreneurs.
• Conduct field research with entrepreneurs, collectives, and small businesses to inform product features, services, and user journeys.
• Analyse comparable solutions in the ecosystem and identify opportunities for differentiation and convergence.
• Translate user and program requirements into Product Requirement Documents (PRDs) and feature specifications, and work closely with technology teams and vendors to build scalable, mobile-first solutions.
• Ensure platform design accounts for low-bandwidth environments and low-literacy users, with intuitive onboarding funnels and workflows.

2. Training & Capacity Building

• Develop and implement training strategies for community-based entrepreneurs and enterprise groups across program geographies.
• Build and manage a network of trainers and community resource persons for last-mile delivery.
• Facilitate workshops, training sessions, and on-ground engagements, including tech-enabled delivery models (WhatsApp-based learning, LMS, assisted digital models).
• Drive adoption and effective utilization of digital solutions and platform services among target users.

3. Financial & Digital Literacy — Content and Curriculum Development

• Design structured, context-relevant learning content focused on financial and digital capabilities of underserved entrepreneur groups.
• Ensure content is accessible, localized, and tailored to diverse literacy levels, incorporating practical and application-oriented learning approaches.
• Develop multi-format content — visual, audio/video, and interactive or activity-based modules — grounded in adult learning principles and behaviour change approaches.

4. Outcomes, Monitoring & Learning

• Define and track key outcome indicators related to enterprise performance, capability building, and platform adoption.
• Establish systems for data collection, monitoring, dashboards, and user feedback, and use insights to continuously refine platform design and delivery.
• Generate regular progress reports for internal leadership and external stakeholders, including funders.

5. Stakeholder & Ecosystem Engagement

• Coordinate with internal teams, technology vendors, and implementation partners for effective delivery.
• Build partnerships with ecosystem players — financial institutions, fintech’s, government scheme facilitators, and market actors — that strengthen outreach, adoption, and service delivery.
• Support the knowledge and learning team in capturing, documenting, and disseminating insights from on-the-ground experiences.
• Contribute to program development, proposals, and fundraising efforts for digital and enterprise development initiatives.

6. Platform & Product Skills

• Ability to translate user needs into PRDs and feature specifications; working understanding of mobile-first design, UI/UX for low-literacy users, and platform workflows.
• Familiarity with no-code/low-code tools (e.g., Glide, Bubble) or CMS platforms; basic understanding of APIs and integrations (payments, KYC, data systems).
• Comfort working with tech teams using tools such as Jira, Trello, or Asana; understanding of data architecture basics (user data capture, dashboards, analytics pipelines).

7. Data, Monitoring & Analytics

• Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets (advanced formulas, dashboards, basic analysis); familiarity with visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
• Understanding of data collection tools (e.g., Kobo, ODK, SurveyCTO) and the ability to define and track KPIs and outcome metrics.

8. Content & Learning Design

• Experience in instructional design and curriculum structuring, with familiarity with content creation tools (e.g., Canva, basic video tools, LMS platforms).

9. Digital & Financial Ecosystem Understanding

• Working knowledge of digital payments (UPI, wallets, AEPS), formal and informal credit systems, and government schemes and financial inclusion frameworks, with the ability to integrate ecosystem services into platform and program design.

Skills, Knowledge, and Experience

• Qualification: Postgraduate in Rural Management / Social Science / Economics or MBA equivalent in Business Administration, Management, or a related discipline
• Experience: 5-7 years in entrepreneurship development sector, demonstrating a successful track record of managing livelihood development projects in rural India
• Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets (advanced formulas, dashboards, basic analysis); familiarity with visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau
• Coordinate with internal teams, technology vendors, and implementation partners for effective delivery.
