Job description

Development Alternatives (DA) is a premier social enterprise pioneering sustainable development solutions since 1982. DA is committed to creating a world where everyone can live secure, healthy, and fulfilling lives in harmony with nature.
Through integrated clean technology solutions, micro-enterprise development, and collaborative institutional ecosystems, DA bridges practice and policy, working with partners to catalyze large-scale action toward sustainable livelihoods and environmental regeneration.

DA’s work addresses the three interconnected crises of our time - Jobs, Resources, and Climate - through impact across three inter-linked, core areas:
    ●    Livelihood Security and Inclusive Entrepreneurship - Innovative business models and institutional ecosystems to empower local entrepreneurs to create businesses that generate jobs and deliver basic needs.
    ●    Resource Efficiency and Circular Economy - Accelerating the transition to inclusive and circular modes of production and consumption by reducing carbon and material footprints across the lifecycle of economic activity while promoting local value and wealth creation.
    ●    Climate Resilience and Ecosystem Restoration - Helping in conserving and regenerating biodiversity, degraded ecosystems, and building resilience to climate change and extreme events in a manner that also generates prosperity.

    SCOPE OF WORK:

    1. Strategy & Revenue Development
    • Develop and execute strategies to grow Non-Project Recurring Revenues (NPRR).
    • Explore and secure funding avenues beyond traditional project-based grants.
    • Identify and drive new business opportunities in alignment with organizational priorities.
    • Support related business generation through training initiatives, capacity-building offerings, and other fee-based engagements.

    2. Program Design & Innovation
    • Design and develop experimental and sustainability-focused learning products, including onsite, online, immersive, and activity-driven modules.
    • Conceptualize paid learning programs and ensure their timely and effective delivery.
    • Create, test, and iterate on innovative formats to strengthen revenue-generating program portfolios.

    3. Client Engagement & Outreach
    • Identify, create, and maintain a database of potential clients and partners.
    • Lead outreach efforts and nurture client relationships to convert opportunities into recurring revenue.
    • Ensure strong communication and coordination between internal teams and external stakeholders for seamless program execution.

    4. Training & Capacity Building
    • Develop and deliver training materials to build the capacity of staff and stakeholders in understanding and promoting revenue-generating initiatives.
    • Facilitate internal awareness and capability enhancement for NPRR-related processes and offerings.

    5. Communication & Social Media
    • Support internal communication efforts for program visibility and revenue-linked initiatives.
    • Contribute to digital outreach by effectively using social media platforms to promote programs, training offerings, and business opportunities.
    • Collaborate with communications teams to ensure consistent and strategic messaging across platforms

    Eligibility Criteria
