Development Alternatives, is hosting a three day international
conference on Sustainable Habitat and Livelihoods for the Poor
in New Delhi, India from March 16-18th, 2004.
Increasingly, the links between poverty reduction through income
generation and upgradation of habitat quality of the poor are
becoming clear. There are many initiatives across the developing
world which address livelihood creation and habitat security in
an integrated manner. These experiences are a source of rich
learning that can help in the formulation of strategic action
plans. These issues will be addressed through the following sub
themes.

Funds may be made available to cover travel and accommodation
expenses for participants especially from the third world.

Sponsorships |
To cover various
expenses for conference organization, participation, post
conference documentation, sponsorships of US$ 20,000 and above
are solicited. This conference will provide an opportunity to
network with international development agencies and formulate
habitat and livelihood strategies that respond to critical need
of the poor.
