Development Solutions Branch (DSB)

 
 
  • Under Integrated Water Management Programme DSB carried out Livelihood Assessment Survey to find better existing livelihood options in Datia cluster.
     

  • The CLAP- HP project Carbon Environment Assessment Programme has covered all the 12 districts of Himachal Pradesh.
     

  • The paralegal worker training for the second batch was organised from June 20-24 under UNDP-Justice Innovation Project. The objective was to make the participants aware of different Acts and government schemes. Fifty PLWs participated in the workshop.

 

 

TARA Livelihood Academy (TLA)

 
 
  • Training on Monitoring and Evaluation was organised at TARAgram, Orchha from June 27-29 for staff members of Naandi Foundation, Mumbai. It was a demand based training programme with six participants.
     

  • A Tailoring and Embroidery training centre was inaugurated at Behta, Pahuj.
     

  • Panchayati Raj Department, Uttar Pradesh, impaneled TARA-TLA for capacity building and training of elected representatives and functionaries of Panchayati Raj Institutions on PPP basis.
     

  • TARA-TLA has been selected as a grant recipient for HP Learning Initiative for Entrepreneurs (HP LIFE), 2011. HP LIFE is a global programme for training students, aspiring entrepreneurs and small business owners to harness the power of IT to establish and grow their business.

 
 

Innovation Systems Branch (ISB)

 
 
  • The SODIS project promotes the SODIS technique (solar disinfection) for microbial decontamination of water at the household level in slums of Delhi. In order to spread the message to a wider audience, a Radio show "PANI RE PANI" is being aired for 2 months from June onwards. SODIS is part of DA’s initiative to promote simple and cost effective point of use treatment for safe drinking water to all.
     

  • DA is conducting a study on Vulnerability Adaptation Assessment in Bundelkhand Malwa region of Madhya Pradesh. In this regards, a visit was made in Malwa region to share with the stakeholders (Govternment, NGO’s, PRI) the findings of the adaptation options. In some of villages farmers are already adapting certain adaptation options.

 
  Business Solutions Branch (BSB)  
 

TARAhaat

  • TARAhaat has developed a new course and is ready to launch it across the eight area offices. It has modules on Web Design Professional (WDP), Diploma in Web Design (DWD) and Certificate in Web Design (CWD).
     

  • TARAhaat is in discussion with National Skills Development Corporation for a project on training and skill building of rural population.

 
  Communication Solutions Branch (CSB)  
 
  • CSB organised a multi-stakeholder workshop on June 11 at TARAgram Orchha under DM-RRS with 75 participants. The objective was to introduce the concept of Shubh Kal (better future) and get the opinion of the participants and validation of adaptation options. Personnel from the Medical Department, Forest Department and Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) Department attended the workshop. Representing the village were a PRI member and ICDS workers.
     

  • A climate change orientation workshop for the Radio Bundelkhand and Village Resource Center (VRC) team was organised on June 10.
     

  • Website of Bundelkhand Knowledge Platform has been launched under SDC-SCSI project. It aims at creating and facilitating a sharing and learning platform in Bundelkhand.
