The 1991 TARA awardee for "Team work and Dependability", 23 year old Arun Kumar is a BCom Hons. graduate and is presently doing ICWA final.  He has learnt computer basics even though he is not formally trained in computer hardware or software, and has played a key role in the computerization of the accounting system for Development Alternatives.

He does the basic book keeping, prepares analysis sheets and income and expenditure accounts besides other regular billing procedures.  A hardworking young man, he is always ready to accomplish tasks to the satisfaction of the organization.  He hopes to be able to undertake budgetting and planning control responsibilities in the near future.










Geared to make a difference in the quality of life of the rural people of our country, K Elizabeth George has been working with the Income generation unit at Mayan village in Haryana.  She has found her two years with Development Alternatives a challenging and learning experience, both personally and professionally.

A post graduate in social work from TISS, she views income generation as the first step towards

             New Members
The Society for Development Alternatives will have three new members from the month of November 1991.

Vinod Nair and Radhika Ranjan will be a part of the Communication Unit.  They will function as specialists, meeting the communication requirements of Development Alternatives via audio and print media respectively.

Lastly, Pramod Kumar will join as an Environment monitoring assistant.  Welcome aboard!
