"Employment and Apprenticeship: 2019 Perspective" by Manisha Mishra (Programme Director, DA)
Apprenticeship training is one of the most efficient ways to develop skilled manpower for the industry by using training facilities available in the establishments without putting any extra burden to set up training infrastructure. This article throws light on Bridge to Livelihoods, which is large coalition programme being managed by DA, with support from Disha project of UNDP and NSDC Apprenticeship Division. As a PMU of this large initiative, Development Alternatives is aiming to benefit 50,000 girls and women in the states of Haryana, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Telangana and the National Capital Region of Delhi in this year by linking them with apprenticeship or job opportunities in the service sectors.
