CLAP for Himachal was rolled out in two new districts, Sirmaur and Shimla, with district level orientation workshops for potential NGO partners, recce visits are being conducted. The programme has now been initiated in six of the twelve districts.

l A training workshop for NGO partner implementation agencies from the five districts of Bilaspur, Solan, Mandi, Hamirpur and Sirmaur was held in Solan on  April 27-28 where the district and block implementation plans were drafted; partners were trained on environment quality assessment through field exercises.

l A project titled "Development of Knowledge Base for Energy Efficiency and Decentralised Renewable Energy in India" was launched in a workshop on "Climate Change Actions in Semi-Arid Areas" held from April 27 – 28 at Orchha, Madhya Pradesh. The workshop was organised by Development Alternatives, Swiss Agency for Development Cooperation and UNEP/Grid-Arendal.

TARA Akshar is all set to be rolled out with at least four state resource centres (SRCs), managed by the Directorate of Adult Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development in Jaipur, Raipur, Rohtak & Indore

l TARAhaat has tied up with Aasanka to provide online training and tutoring to students preparing for board exams, CETs, IITJEE, AIEEE

On April 27 - 28 DA, SDC and UNEP jointly organised a 2-day workshop on Climate Change Action in Semi-Arid Regions to exchange experiences and practices on adaptation and mitigation issues critical for influencing policy development processes. More than 50 participants across the country gathered in the workshop and shared their grassroots experiences on climate change action.

l On April 22, 500 school children, over 30 teachers, resource people from Nehru Memorial Museum and Library (NMML), eminent painter and naturalist Jatin Das and Development Alternatives came together to celebrate Earth Day at Teen Murti Bhavan, New Delhi and pledged to conserve the planet. The theme for this year’s Earth Day is biodiversity conservation and climate change mitigation – learning from nature.
