Senior Advisor, Usha Srinivasan has vast experience in Managing the Environmental related work, Nationwide CLEAN- India (Community Led Environment Action Network) Programme of Development Alternatives, addressing the issues of clean water, clean air, climate change and global warming, biodiversity conservation, checking for food adulteration and waste management involving and influencing the community through a network of over a million students, thousands of teachers and 28 NGOs from 78 cities across India. The programme involves the children and youth as the prime agents of change, who motivate their friends and communities establishing a meaningful connection between learning and skills and the key focus for action is at the local level involving all stakeholders from school students, communities, NGOs, local civic and government bodies. Her authored papers, training manuals and books on Science (including text books for middle schools), Astronomy (books for amateur astronomers and “Hello stars” for Department of Science and technology) and Environment, Recipient of National Science talent scholarship, National award for Innovative Science teaching and for popularization of Astronomy and Environment in schools, National (Manthan award) and International awards (Global junior challenge - youth incubator award) for the CLEAN-India web site.
She also the Member of Commission on Education and Communication, IUCN (The World Conservation Union), The Tree Authority, Govt. of NCT,Delhi, SCERT panel on Environment Education, Government of Delhi, Governing Council, Shikshantar school. Coordinator of the Earth Charter programme (as India affiliate). Founding member, The Civil services Society. Usha Srinivasan did her graduation Hons in Chemistry and has done M.Ed., M.Phil (Education) and Diploma in fine arts.
